Hello there,

I have been actively trading for a few years, primarily focusing on stocks and ETFs, but I struggle with consistency in my results.

I have studied various strategies; from technical analysis to fundamental approaches; but I find it challenging to stick with one method long enough to see consistent returns. My main issues are overtrading, emotional decision making, and difficulty maintaining discipline.

I am curious to hear from experienced traders in this community. How did you find a strategy that worked for you? What steps did you take to refine and stick with your chosen method? Are there specific resources; books; or courses you would recommend for someone in my situation?

Any insights or advice on building a robust and sustainable trading strategy would be greatly appreciated. I am excited to learn and improve; so any personal experiences or tips you can share would be valuable.

Thank you in advance for your help and assistance.

Hi @roberrrttt1

Seems your first post in this forum: So a nice welcome to you.

Regarding your question: You mentioned you are now trading for a few years. Fine. So why not focus on the strategy you already have in use? You may have to change only little, certain parameters to have any results you consider good enough for you to continue with exactly this strategy.

If you want you may give an insight about this strategy you use and traders here can give you an advise what may have to be improved in it to have more consistency with it.

Symple

The problem is the trader. not the system

What I did was change my focus from watching the P&L to "Did I follow my trading plan?".
I would suggest you put your plan in writing and judge your performance on whether you followed your plan or not.
If not then you have to figure out why!!
