Hi Trading community,

I am contemplating on buying "Virtual/Augmented Reality" glasses /googles to replace a MULTI SCREEN setup. I was wondering if anyone here actually executed that option and the pro's and cons of such a decision.

I'll sum up my findings so far:

1. No goggles currently Truley project 4K - highest resolution per eye is about QHD (around 2,00 pixels) not UHD - however there is a product on CROWDFUNDING which aims to bring 4K

2. IMMERSIVE app with googles such as QUEST3 - can create a multi - screen sort of 4k (not sure) but it will be a MIX of 4 1080p screen together - so not sure the laptops DRIVER would be able to let Ninjatrader in my case see that screen as a 4K one where I can drag the charts all across.

3. TRACKING head movement: Not all products have this option - and the ones that do - NECK STRAIN can be an issue potentially. So having 2-3 sort of 4k screens and tracing them to FOCUS on them can be tricky I hear sometimes

4. HEAT - some googles as the QUEST are "ENCLOSES/encapsulated" almost hermetically on your face/eyes - and can generate HEAT/Sweat - also "Motion Sickness" can be experienced by some people

5. SHARPNESS - in our case of fast number movement of DOM elements can be NON-OPTIMAL with these devices

6. LAG: Sun 200ms should nit be an issue ...sub 30ms for those doing ORDERFLOW operations may be a CHALLNGE!

* Most of these devices are TETHERED - so you cannot be "mobile" with them - such as walking away from your PC/Laptop - but then again - non of us trade while we WALK

* Would be interesting to see if ANY of these AR/VR Goggles have STRONG enough HARDWARE to be able to just CONNECT via WIRESSLESS with no TETHERED LAPTOP attached and perform a VIRTUAL DESKTOP setting in which connects to our TRADING COMPUTER at home while we trade at a HOTEL ROOM with NOTHJING BUT THAT VR DEVICE>

If ANYONE has any INPUT/INSIGHTS on this option - would be DELIGHTED to hear about it.

Lastly, on another note - was wondering if anyone had the chance to work with one of those 4K mini projectors instead of an actual 4K monitor - and how's the experience with those?

Cheers - and HAPPY HOLIDAYS,
Steven

7. FOV - I've tried a friends XReal Air's and you also need to factor in Field of View almost as much (maybe more than) resolution.
