I've been using NinjaTrader for a while and have appreciated its power and flexibility, but with the recent replacement of the traditional user forum and broader changes to the platform's structure and communication style, I'm starting to feel that the community and user-driven aspect is no longer a central focus. The platform feels more closed, more commercial, and less responsive to active traders who want to share and collaborate.
As a discretionary trader, I'm wondering if others feel the same. Has NinjaTrader shifted its priorities away from fostering an open, engaged user base? What direction do you think the platform is heading in, and how has it affected your use of it?
Would love to hear from other long-time users: Is this a temporary change, or do you think it's part of a long-term strategy?
I won't update past 8.0.28.0. Everything after that is a mess....for me. From the useless online login to upgrade difficulties, I got sick of it after a week. All of my chart indicators are custom made, so that's another factor as well.

The fact that so many of us are hesitant to update due to fear of breaking indicators says a lot. If we feel trapped in older versions just to maintain functionality, maybe it’s time to rethink where we invest our time and energy. Relying on legacy builds isn’t a sustainable long-term strategy, especially when other platforms are more transparent, modular, and responsive to their users.
For me, this is becoming less about technical hurdles and more about alignment. If a platform's trajectory no longer aligns with the needs of serious traders and developers, it might be better to move on and commit to something that does.
I've been a user of Ninjatrader since early version 6 days.
I've enjoyed the forum and the platform.
The new 'https://discourse.ninjatrader.com/" is terrible.
There apparently are no NT personnel answering the questions and the discussion seems very shallow.
I don't know what this means for the future but for the present it sucks.
Just my 2 cents
