So I completed my 30 trade sample trade set of the YM dow futures all based on a 5 Minute chart risk target and execution.
positives
1.1R was standard so on average I never really risked more than I was willing to make.
2.Hit Rate was at 53% also I consider that a net positive as I was not hyper scalping or trying to get every trade and still overall after 30 trades was able to find some confidence in trade execution and every trade had logic built behind it.
3.The biggest positive is I cemented the habit of live journaling my trades which really helped growth in real time.
Lessons:
1. Trading the Dow did not yield a profit factor above 2 after 30 trades with a total loss of 660$ over 32 trades.
2. Switching to the ES for the next 30 trade sample set starting tomorrow to see results in that market.
3. Accepting trading as data collection instead of profit and losses and finding which market my style and personality align best with.
