Not sure where to raise this but here goes. There is a convenient way to search for a page in a thread but many times the reference is to a post number. It would be great if as well as a page link, there could be a post link. Some threads are huge and finding a post can be time consuming. Just an idea!!
Thanks for this great forum, there is a treasure trove of information available to anyone who takes the time to do some serious reading. I am always grateful to experienced people who give freely of their time and share their expertise.

If you click on permalink and copy/paste the URL then you'll get a direct reference to a specific post in a thread.

I think the problem is not reference the link but searching for the specific link. Have you tried the search instruments

the folks who refer to a special older posting should usualy post a link (the "permalink" ) to this refered posting
and not only post the number itself.
That would be a perfect way!

its like talking about an indicator-modification or so - always provide a link for the other people to find it fast.

Thanks folks. Good suggestions but not quite what I had in mind. When in a long thread there is a box to insert the required page number to go to. I was thinking another box in which the post number could be inserted. I appreciate that this is a change to the site and probably not worth the effort. Just a thought but thanks for the replies. Appreciated.
