This week constitutes the first three days trading this system on the SIM on a new computer with three beautiful monitors that I can SEE. All prior trades were on a mental SIM on a MacBook Pro with Parallels totally screwed up. 82% profitability including 100% (four trades) today. I know it's not real money but I had to start somewhere. I had been procrastinating going to the real SIM so much for so long that I ran out of excuses. Account Performance Summary attached. Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk.
Do not worry about the money side of the trades. Try and get to 100% Wins. Do LESS trades, but each one a winner. I know that you are practicing on Sim, but you are over trading. The amount of trades you took over 3 days is too much. In real time money trading, you want to do 6-10 Trades a day MAX. Good luck !!!!!
Interesting you should mention the number of trades, Perry.
The Summary indicates 56 trades but that appears to represent
28 r/t trades, or 9 trades per day, which is way more than I
took yesterday and today. I think on Day #1 I was messing
around a lot more. But you are reading my mind. I am striving
for 100% Wins before trading live.
Doesn't a R/T trade count as two trades on your NT Summary? I wonder
if the way trades are counted can be changed like other parameters.
The other reason it seems like I made so many trades is because my P&L is big. But actually my contracts are big. I kept it real simple
as you said over and over in the thread. So one number for me: 11.
Contracts: 11
Profit Target: 11
Stop Loss: 11
Thank you.
ROFLMAO. I was waiting for you to ask, monpere. But now I understand
the reason folks are reluctant to post their trades. It's a bear to go back
and replicate them. Next time (tomorrow) I'm going to take a screenshot
as soon asI place a trade with Chart Trader activated. I'm going to print out
every single trade so I have great records. But I'll get working on today's
trades now. I'm curious myself what they look like.
What I do is put an arrow on the bar I take a trade, right after I enter each trade, so at the end of the day, I have a chart with arrows on every bar where I took a trade. So, you only need one chart picture that shows all your trades.
NT does not count the number of trades correctly. It seems to count both entry and exit. So I would just jot down the actual number of trades. Another way to see exactly your entries and exits is to go the DATA SERIES icon, and on the last line under Trades, change the "Plot Execution" to "MARKERS ONLY". This will put a small arrow on the entry bar and the exit bar at the prices you made.
After going over the trades today to recreate them on a chart for monpere I realize what happened.
They were ALL executed as MARKET orders that did not fill at the same price. Many, in fact, most
were executed one contract at a time, for a grand total of 20 trades today when I only placed 4.
The reason I execute at "Market" is a whole other story which details I will spare everyone, but I'm
working on the issue.
Will do what you suggest, Perry, regarding the change from Plot Execution to Markers Only.
Here are the four trades from today.
I didn't confirm the 4-range trades with the 8-range chart because,
ahem, my NT skills are still weak, but that's still a goal.
