Gisfor, can you tell me how you loaded an option chart in TOS. I have never seen this before. I have been trading options on TOS for years and never knew this was possible.
Thanks,
Kim
The power of the "weekly options". But remember that this is big boy territory and as quick as the profits can come, it can go as quick without strong set-ups and stronger RULES of engagement. If you do NOT have complete faith in your system I would strongly recommend trading another type of option.
Thank you for the e-mail and offer, but honestly I have no desire to change, or add anything to my set-ups, there is no need or benefit, IMO. My rules are set, they work extremely well, they are easy to follow, and thus no reason to modify.
As I was telling another trader this moring when my wife & I make a trade we do in a very relaxed manner. It is not because we are guaranteed a win, we are not, but we DO know we will win much more than we lose by the end of the day and that is what it is all about.
If you can't teach your system to a complete NEWBIE in 15 minutes or less, than it is TOO complicated. You saw my rules, (basically all blue, buy; all red, short: PERIOD). And you buy ALL set-ups as you never know which one will be that Biggie.
PS: One of my goals has always been to make my set-ups as easy as possible to follow and IMO there is little else I can do to do so now. Everything that is there is there for a reason, but the picture is clean and easy to follow, IMO
PSS: The ONE thing about rules is that in trading they MUST ALWAYS be followed, not just some of the time, but ALWAYS. (what goes on between your ears when trading must ALWAYS be controlled to be a true pro in this business.)
Oil could have been SO much better for me today, but I still had two nice plays. Got stopped out on both a little early and unfortunately wasn't really given a good reset to get back in on them. Still got 99 ticks so not so bad. Weeklies were nice on AAPL (again), GOOG (a double), and NFLX. Missed two nice plays in AMZN & BIDU over lunch as I had stepped out for a quick bite.
I have marked up my charts as far as entries and option prices.
Tomorrow is another day.
PS: TF would have been huge to play today as well, (I have enclosed my charts as I am looking to start playing it as well soon).
PSS: I am glad to see the market didn't buy into the crap that happened over the weekend.
Another busy day today. Most of my weeklies were already running from the start and thus had to drop to a lower range chart in order to look for opportunities to get into the run. I typically use 1/2 of my normal range when I am looking to try to get into a longer trend.
I had some other plays today in AMZN and PCLN, but I am beat and I am still in that last CL play, stop on last half at $ 82.83, just above the 30 minute opening range low of 82.81.
Again I am glad I am a daytrader and do NOT have to worry about the markets direction. What a giant ponzi the whole thing is and they wonder why the retail investor is not buying into it.........
Just keep printing.........
Have a great night and let's see where we go tomorrow.
Hi Vikings, I've noticed in the recent charts you've changed to range charts at various cents value for AAPL, /CL
and GOOG. Do you think they are easier to trade on and help filter out spike and noise from the time charts?
Thanks, Cloudy
I am going to run an experiment from here until the end of the month. We (wife & I) are going to trade ONLY CL & AAPL. We will keep our contracts on CL at 4 for now, but will go to 10 by month's end (maybe even next week). Secondly, I have put together a 30 trade experiment for my weeklies and we are going to try it on AAPL only. My trades will be less, but potentially much MORE profitable. I will keep all informed as this 2 1/2 week experiment progresses. I will NOT be looking at anything else during this time frame.
Oil was very nice today, but I made a big mistake on one very nice play; I bought my stop up to a "big round" number .80. I hit .80- and actually took my stop, where if I had left it at .79 I could have picked up another 100 pips on 2 contracts. Lesson learned!
Have a great night and enjoy the charts.
PS: By the time AAPL finally gave me a play I was tired and passed on it, another mistake today.
