There's trouble on the streets tonight
I can feel it in my bones, I had a premonition
That he should not go alone
I knew the gun was loaded
But I didn't think he'd kill
Everything exploded, and the blood began to spill
So baby, here's your ticket
Put the suitcase in your hand, here's a little money now
Do it just the way we planned
You be cool for twenty hours, and I'll pay you twenty grand
I'm sorry it went down like this
And someone had to lose, it's the nature of the business
It's the smuggler's blues, smuggler's blues
The sailors and pilots, the soldiers and the law
The pay-offs and the rip-offs and the things nobody saw
No matter if it's heroin, cocaine, or hash
You've got to carry weapons, 'cause you always carry cash
There's lots of shady characters, lots of dirty deals
Ev'ry name's an alias, in case somebody squeals
It's the lure of easy money, it's got a very strong appeal
Perhaps you'd understand it better
Standin' in my shoes, it's the ultimate enticement
It's the smuggler's blues, smuggler's blues
You see it in the headlines, you hear it ev'ry day
They say they're gonna stop it but it doesn't go away
They move it through Miami, sell it in L.A.
They hide it up in Telluride, I mean it's here to stay
It's propping up the governments in Columbia and Peru
You ask any D.E.A. man, he'll say there's nothin' we can do
From the office of the President
Right down to me and you, me and you
It's a losing proposition but one you can't refuse
It's the politics of contraband
It's the smuggler's blues, smuggler's blues
Hi Patidar, sometimes I wouldn't know what to think like that scared area 51 caller, but yes, it was kind of fun and (scary for me), listening to the heights of their outlandish stories from Bell and his guests back in the 90's.
Ed Dames with his killshot sunflare/destruction of Earth's ability to grow food, Michael Gordon Scallion's re-re-revised map of the flooded United States 1999, 2003, 2008, etc. supposedly in line with Edgar Cayce's predictions, Courtney Brown's exposed as a fraud with his planet-sized spaceship inside the Hale-Bopp comet of 1996. And the tragedy of the "Heaven's Gate" cult re: the Hale Bopp comet.
I much prefer Norri. A far more gracious host to new callers. And at least he says we will all go through it together and is willing to examine all the viewpoints. And puts the real problem with the economy where it is: at the corporatists in charge of everything incl. the gov't and media. Actually I don't listen much anymore. I think all CoastToCoast shows pertaining to spirituality and spirit beings is doing a disservice to the country. Norri has catholic roots, but now seems to have turned away from it completely. Nowadays I have CNBC on instead as the background chatter.
Art Bell, last I heard has his own show on sirius xm-radio which started sometime late last year. I guess his retirement funds ran out. He had said he made his home in Pahrump, NV, completely energy independent. He used to come in and do occasional stand-in's to do the Halloween shows or something year to year on CoastToCoast.
Coast-To-Coast AM and affiliated shows; all recent shows easy to listen on archive youtube now, nice:
