Alright! Yesterday was pretty tough for me. I wasn't there at opening but when I opened my charts I saw it falling down really bad and I thought in this trend you can just jump in and get profit. I waited for a nice pull back and it didn't work the way I wanted. Then I forgot about news and got in few seconds before release.
I tried to find the indicator that shows me a message on the screen few minutes before news, but didn't find anything that works. May be someone has something nice to share. I always check for news in the morning and then I just see something nice on the chart and get it right before it.
So I took another 6 trades (2 contracts each) and ended up with -7 ticks.
Here are my trades and summary for 8/1:
Today I was not suppose to trade because they were suppose to cut of the power for 6 hours from 9am. So they didn't and opened up my charts around 11am. I missed the first entry and got in another one that wasn't that great but I got a few ticks out of it. I took the second one when I saw some weakness to the downside and got it against the trend. I wasn't sure if it's gonna work very well but it hit my both targets and got back down. So today I got +5.2 from two trades (2 contracts each)
3 minutes chart was pretty much useless. So I was watching 1 min all the time I marked 3 entries after news but I didn't take those trades because I was kinda afraid to trade with this market conditions. Then I finally took one trade and I was trailing stops really close.
At days like this it's much better to trade with range bars. I was watching 5 ticks range bar I could see a few nice entries, but I don't wanna jump to another time frame just because I changed my trading style too many times for the last few months.
So here is my trade and summary:
The trade I marked after that would take away about 3 points from from my profit, but the last one (long) would be +12.3 points total for both contracts.
I like when market trending, but I don't like having big stop losses.
Over all it wasn't a bad day. I really liked the last trade.
I knew that we are gonna retest or even break yesterday's low, but I didn't want to stay in the trade that long and take chances. I just wanted to lock some profit and call it a day.
Don't get me wrong. I do like these nice and quick moves, I'm just not used to it and I have no idea how long it's gonna last.
I got +6.4 from the first trade, but greed took over and I lost everything and even 5.8 more. Some trades I didn't even have time to move my stops below/above of swing low/high and it would take me out even before that. So I took two winning trades and just called it a day.
The trade #6 my stop was one tick below of the last bull candle and then I moved it lower just to give it little bit more room. That cost me 1.2 points. But It was positive any way and you cannot take max profit of the trade every time.
I had to zoom it in because it was really hard to see marks on the chart.
Here are my trades and summary for today:
I'm not sure how long we are gonna have this volatility on the market and I son't know if this week should be counted as my trading results because it was really different.
Any way this week I had better results. Profit amount and %win.
Here are results for two weeks:
Yesterday was one of my crazy days when I cannot stop and keep clicking without thinking.
After 4 trades I was -9.8 points down then after another 3 trades I was up +2.5 points BUT I didn't stop. I got down to over -22 points then got some of that back to -3.3 BUT didn't stop again. So total for yesterday is -9.9 points.
Today I didn't trade from 1min. I took all my trades from 3min chart because this is suppose to be my trading chart (not 1min).
I took two trades (2contracts each). I got 4 points out of the first one and only 7ticks from the second one. So total for today is +4.7 points.
How many trades are you making per day? I replayed yesterday and made 1 trade, making 5.7 points. Coulda made more, but my newborn son needed some attention.
Many thanks to the site and all the contributors. Great source of info.
I was trading from 1 min chart that's why I took so many trades.
I'm trying to be done after one or two trade. Yesterday was different. I just got angry and kept clicking without thinking (it happen to me from time to time).
What trade did you take? You can post your Charts here.
Check out my journal. Didn't get a chance to take a screenshot yesterday as my 3 week old baby was hungry.
I trade the 1 and 3 minute charts too. I've also noticed on the TF that my setup will appear at LEAST 3 times per day but I only make up to 3 trades per day. Yesterday I saw aLOT of opportunity, but I'm not a pig heading to slaughter.
Something Mike, and others, drilled into me was to take ONLY 3 trades per day, no matter what. Angry, happy, in the money, out of the money, whatever, doesn't matter. Make those 3 count.
Many thanks to the site and all the contributors. Great source of info.
