M - 57tics (6/8) - beginning of home school online learning - confusion
T - 57tics (3/4) - ripped on 1 trade that should have been a scratch trade.
W - 51tics (5/6) - 1 dumb trade.
Th - 134tics (6/6) - best trading ever. perfect.
Fr - 8 tics (2/3) - lack of focus as running around shopping for Mum before the market opened and helping the kids with online learning before the holidays start tomorrow...a lot of distractions - time for a dedicated office ?
Overall volatility falling this week but want to continue with my larger target orders for now....a little more patience goes a long way...sometime you give up good gains but that's the way markets work - unavoidable.
M +73 (4/5)
T +59(7/11)
W +8 - (5/7) - shit day
Th +62 (4/4) - used a 350tic chart to get better entry points after getting frustrated by seeing the good entries passing by on the 500tic yesterday...certainly quicker but seemed to enjoy it......the chart also looks more similar to the PAT ES chart with the volume of bars for the first 30mins of the session.....I seem to get better entries on the shorter tic bars...just have to train my right-click to be a little bit faster to capture those trades.
Remember "stop" orders turn into "market orders" once the price touches your "stop" price level....DON'T USE THEM!!
I avoid Market Orders like Covid-19 on the HSI as it's a license to give away money.....your always better off using Stop Limit for buying above the market or Limit orders from below the market - applies in all asset classes...I use Limit "day" orders for my stock trading on my retirement account...I've seen some HK brokers offering "brokerage free" HSI trading if you use "market orders" - say no more.
FWIW- I am experimenting with "Limit Chase" orders currently as by using a lower tick chart (faster signals) there are some amazing entries that get filled so quickly I can't click fast enough on the Chart DOM in Sierra Charts....these in theory are still a much better order type than the take my money and bend me over - "market" orders.
In SC you can send Limit Chase orders as a default in the DOM if you select it...check the documentation...
The only market I could justify market orders would be the ES - as it's so liquid and deep your not going to get ripped more than 1 tick during normal trading hours.
Hi Steve - Market orders of course....when you want out you pay "the" price....if I keep my accuracy up I don't give away too much. Good point for the exit.....my biggest rips have been on "market" orders on the exit....unavoidable really unless you pick a more liquid market......sadly AMP does not offer KOSPI futures ??
Which markets do you normally trade during Asian hours?
Ah ah, I could be flippant and say anything that moves because in these uncertain times all sorts of markets have provided good movement during the Asian hours.
But typically (normally) the MHI on the HKFE and sometimes Gold and Euro on the CME. I then switch to Eurex about 8am EU time and look at MDAX, FESX, and FGBL.
I normally only trade the MHI for 2-3 hours from 9:30 their time to midday lunch break. Then I have a few hours off before Eurex opens at 8am their time.

It looks like initial margin is $12K USD per contract? With a $10 per tick value which is 0.05. If I'm reading it right, on a day like today it has a 25 point range, * 20 ticks per point => 500 ticks ... that's quite a lot. Don't know how liquid it is though.
FWIW, Eurex has a mini-kospi but I think it probably has next to no volume and is not worth trading. And, I can't get it on CQG though it shows up (F.US.FMKJ20 for april).
BTW, don't you just love the 100 point runs to new highs that happen in HSI in about 90 seconds? If you can catch those, it's just the most carefree, wind at your back, 99% sure, kind of trade. Nothing else I know of does it like HSI.
I have been bugging them for years about considering picking it up..
IB has Kospi & Mini-Kospi - commissions are pretty reasonable too, I only dabble in the mini, but it is ~900kwn per round turn. ($1.20AUD).
Mini-kospi has a different ticksize to the full though, which can be somewhat annoying when looking at the full contract and trying to enter on the mini.
