I've been using MW for 4 months. Overall I'm pretty happy with the Order flow edition.
I like how I can attach and detach bracket orders whenever I want.
There is some puzzling behaviour though.
Unable to show p&l in ticks on both chart ladder and chart trader. This is somewhat available on the ultimate edition but doesn't work properly for shorts.
Email alerts is ok, since it shows a screenshot, but a plugin to use Telegram would be better.
Trend lines and channels need to anchor to a point on tick charts otherwise they start moving.
Constant need to load more data if I scroll back just a bit too much on tick charts.
Looking on LinkedIn they appear to be a 3 person shop, probably under 10. Would explain the speed of bugfixes and updates.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
MotiveWave Ultimate (2295USD) +295USD annually will worth the money? The Multicharts v14 and Multicharts .Net(likewise NT8 is about 1,649USD) are each about 1,997USD lifetime licenses and no upcoming annual costs? Will this Multicharts Ultimate will worth this 2295USD one-off purchase +295USD annual cost?
May you please share their experience with MotiveWave Ultimate with me and tell me if the price will worth the money? How is Java SDK development, will it straight forward development and stable in execution performance?
****BIG PROBLEMS WITH P&L DIPLAY IN M.W.****
Does anyone has the same issue?
Since I updated to the latest version of MotiveWave, the P&L that is displayed on the chart is not the same that it's displayed on the "Trade section" (see pics), this is quite confusing.
I recently downgraded from the OrderFlow subscription to the Standard subscription, because I was not using any orderflow tool.
I don't think that the P&L display is intentionally made confusing for lower price subscription, but honestly I don't know what else to expect from MotiveWave. With every update they get worse.
I cannot really understand how you can release a product with these kind of flaws.
I post some images so that you can see what it looks like. Please let me know if anyone else is experiencing this.
I’ve had a similar problem at times while running a strategy in the replayer, where the strat QUANTITY gets out of sync with the trade panel, so I cannot tell if I’m long, short, or flat.
The way to confirm is to open the accounts page and check the figures there.
I tested the platform MotiveWave-Ultimate and all these happening for me too. The errors are more than what you encountered. But I like the platform. I couldn't decide if the MotiveWave Ultimate 2295USD one-off purchase plus 295USD annual maintenance fee is worth it to purchase or not? And how this compares to Multicharts v14?
Also, the order-flow add-ons and a few add-on packs are paid packages for this MotiveWave-Ultimate, and these costs about 3000USD to just purchase the add-ones packs beside the 2295USd Motive-Wave Ultimate and 295USD annual cost of maintenance and update of the platform?
Motivewave ultimate includes all add on packs, nothing else to purchase. You don’t have to purchase the yearly support either. Also they also have good sales come up a few times a year.
