Emotions are sometimes strange, volatile, and unpredictable. They do not always respond to logic and reason. They do, however, respond to action. If you have occasional feelings of loneliness, discouragement, or discontentment, the best way to kill such negative emotions is to work them to death. Almost nothing is as bad as it first seems, and there’s nothing like a hard day’s work to put everything in proper perspective. When you begin to feel negative emotions, dwelling on your misfortunes only makes you feel worse. Do your best to put them out of your mind and think about more positive, constructive things. Physical labor can help. Choose a task that doesn’t require a great deal of concentration, and then focus on accomplishing the task at hand.
Profanity is a sign of inadequate vocabulary or unsound judgment — or both.
Mark Twain once observed that “the difference between the right word and the almost-right word is the difference between lightning and a lightning bug.” It is never appropriate to use profanity, especially among people you do not know well. Instead, build your vocabulary by reading and studying so that you can express yourself simply and eloquently. When you expand the number of words you know, you also expand your mind, because understanding the words and their meanings necessitates understanding the concepts behind them. Make sure you allow time each day for study and reflection.
Waste no words on a man who dislikes you. Actions will impress him more.
Some people think they can talk their way out of any situation, and for a time they may be right But if someone already dislikes you, either because of a simple misunderstanding or an error in judgment on your part, he or she will be especially difficult to persuade with words. Their emotions will always get in the way of their ability to think logically and reasonably. Consistent actions over a sustained period of time, however, will usually persuade even the most devout skeptic. If you constantly demonstrate that you are a generous, kind, and caring person, it will be very hard for even your enemies to dislike you. In any case, you will become a better person for having made the effort.
When the going is hardest, just keep on keeping on, and you’ll get there sooner than someone who finds the going easy.
If you think achieving great heights of success will be easy, you either don’t understand at all how the process works or you have your sights set too low. Reaching the top of any field is difficult, time-consuming, and often tedious. The reason it isn’t crowded at the top is that most people won’t do the things that are necessary to achieve success. They are all too willing to give up when the going gets tough. If you need inspiration to persevere, read the biographies of men and women who have achieved greatness in their lives. You will find that they prevailed because they refused to quit. They continued to toil alone long after the masses had given up and gone home.
I think it helps when I realize that I will never be materially-abundant to the level I wish. I just don't have enough money to make the money I need to be materially-abundant at the level I want. It takes money to make it, and I gotta' save what I have so I don't lose it all, and think that what I have now makes me materially-abundant, and I should be grateful for it. Is that the wrong attitude?
I have been listening to Bob Proctors' series -
Paradigm Shift
controlling your paradigm (the cluster of habits programmed into our subconscious). This an update of his lectures - which for the most part are a repacking of Think and Grow Rich. I listen to the videos and make notes - which I will post (time permitting) to the Video Summary thread.
--- here is my summary of the process ----
We are spiritual beings. We have magnificent factors and how we use our intellectual factors will dictate our emotional state. Our emotional state will dictate how we act and our results. We need images to guide our subconscious which guide us through our emotions and vibrations.
We think in pictures.
What is the picture of your future?
What do you really want to do? Take a pen an paper and you can decide what your future will be.
The picture of you with a higher self, subconscious mind and body represents us. The power flow through the higher conscious mind which has the ability to control and direct its thoughts. The pictures we empress upon our subconscious mind which must except what it is impressed upon it with emotional energization. The subconscious then sets up the vibration we resonate which controls we we attract. The subconscious hold the habits (our paradigms) which govern our actions and our results.
To truly change our results with must change these subconscious habits programmed into us (our paradigm) and internal self-image.
So to change our actions change our subconscious actions. To change our self-image which is the governor on our potential - what we see as possible for us we must change the picture of ourselves in our subconscious.
The programming was done with repetition and to change it we must use repetition. Those repetitions of new programming must be done with energization (faith, joy etc) to reach and impact the subconscious mind.
Please excuse my numbering. You touch upon many issues and to respond I feel I needed to separate them.
Well first it is your life - so right or wrong attitudes is up to what you are trying to do with your life, that is there is no right or wrong - rather what is effective for you to achieve what you want to achieve.
re #5: Certainly this is a healthy and correct attitude. In the western world most of us are very material abundant especially in comparison to 90% of the world. Also to receive more being grateful for what you have is a cornerstone attitude. "The universe loves the attitude of gratitude." "To those who have more shall be given."
Above I have posted a summary of the process (the theory that I am working with to create my reality). I do not have great material wealth manifested (though in my mind it is there for my future self).
I do have great health. I am happy and positive. I am working hard to create a great life (of achievement). However my spiritual health - being a good person - is far more important to me than the treasures that rust and rot.
I would suggest you go through the video series and decide for yourself what is possible for you,
I believe YOU have great potential for anything (including financial abundance) if you can see it and believe it
If we have faith and we believe we can receive it (and believe you have already received it) - we shall.
(paraphrase of Mark 11;22-24)
Great things aren't necessarily easy - but that doesn't stop them from being achieved.
And without our health, we are doomed. Maybe there is a point in our lives where we get back to the basics, such as that.
I am so so grateful I am in the state I am in, as compared to where I could have been. I do be a bit weary here and there, some joints creak, I have painful complaints from the body that crop up now and again, but it is manageable.
Lists help...Like this.
-----------------------------
I am grateful for still having all four limbs, and all internal organs. (Just not the wisdom teeth, they are starting to bother me.)
I am grateful for having all five senses, and especially for still having super-great hearing as I pass-through mid-life. I can still hear a pin drop in the next county.
I am grateful I do not have a genetic dis-ease.
I am grateful I have a home to live in, and friends to love me when I am down, and to yell at me when I mess up.
I am grateful that I still have a small bit of family left who love me, even though we are distant. It is comforting knowing they are still there, even though we are thousands of miles apart.
I am grateful I am in a place where I can learn to trade, and have the means to make it happen. It is my opportunity to be self-sufficient on a level that I could not afford 30+ years ago.
I am grateful for the ability to type what I wish (within reason) on this forum because of all the US military folks who are sacrificing themselves to afford me this freedom.

I suppose I could go on, but you get the point. :-)
So do I have abundance? Yes, I suppose I do, considering the brief list above. I do not need to go through the video series you have posted, as I have seen them all and then some. This is not a conceit, just a truth.
There is nothing new anyone can say, no new angle anyone can place upon, what philosophers have been going on about for thousands of years. It's the same old stuff.
Material-abundance though? Hrmm. I'd like a bigger piece of that pie before I depart this earth. Would be fun to experience, for once.
Life is large. Live it and love it, because it does not come often. Something like that. (Paraphrasing, hehe.)
