Monday I have a follow-up with the doctor, more x-rays and this hard cast comes off. Then depending on how it looks, I will have the second surgery either this Thursday or next week sometime probably.
From there I am not 100% sure, but probably a soft cast and physical therapy.
Went as planned. Have kept the metal pins they removed today as a $9,000 memento. In a digital splint now plus a small cast. Will go back to doctor end of next week to remove these stitches, and start physical therapy - which they are wanting 3 times a week for 4 weeks --- but at $100 a visit I will be cutting that back some...
Even if you don't go to physical therapy you still need to do the therapy on your own. That's the only way your hand will return to the full range of motion.
At first I was like, "What the fuck is a digital splint? How does something digital even keep you in a cast? Is there some type of analog splint I've never heard of? Wtf?" Then I did a google search and some of the first images were fingers in splints. Then I was like, "Oooooh damn. I'm a retard. DIGITal splint!"
