Thanks guys. I signed up for finviz but there appears to be a major limitation - no ability to overlay sectors or SP500 on top of charts!! Unless I am missing it... that is a serious drawback, and a no go for me, so I will look into other options now.
Well I think I'm going to just have to import the SP500 into MultiCharts so I can use it for charting. Seems the most logical since I've got it already, and IQfeed. That way I can use finviz for signal scanning, but MC to set the charts the way I want them.
I'm curious, can Trade ideas allow you to create a custom indicator or modify standard indicators such as RSI? Also, can trade ideas create a signal based on multiple time frames? I trade based on conditions happening in the 30 minute EMA's and MACD and also on the 5 minute Stochastics and a modification of the RSI. Finally, my trigger point is a 2 minute bar closing above the previous 2 minute bar. Can Trade Ideas do that?? - thanks in advance!

I looked at madscan...it looks powerful and very similar to tradeideas in a lot of ways but I couldn't see any way to modify standard indicators or create your own to be used in your screen. Am I right?

Ok y'all, the thread title is Stock Screeners and we've been talking about scanners. I know that they're prolly one and the same but I want to make a distinction between a scanner/screener that:
1. allows you to select a series of predefined indicators and fundamentals criterion
2. scans a universe of stocks at the moment you hit the OK button and returns a static list of results
and a scanner/screener that:
1. allows you to create/code your own custom criterion (strategy/setup involving multiple time frame conditions)
2. is real-time and perpetually streaming an ever changing list of results
3. can be applied to a universe of stocks such as the S&P 500
4. can be instantly linked to your charting package
Ameritrade StrategyDesk has such an alerts/screener but I am finding that it is not nearly as responsive as I need it to be. It misses many very good signals that my backtester catches. Is there a good alternative out there that is reliable amd responsive?

I know the moderators dislike self promotion but I found this current thread on screeners through Google and felt like I had to respond.
Most of the stock screeners that have been mentioned so far (with the exception of FinViz) are primarily geared towards technical traders. Even FinViz is very limited in the fundamentals criteria and selection parameters that it makes available to users. The stock screener we developed at Screener.co was designed more with fundamental traders in mind and is far more powerful, for our target audience, than any platform apart from Capital IQ or Bloomberg. Furthermore, it is *much* less expensive than even TradeStation.
I welcome any comments or suggestions regarding our product and will be checking PMs periodically to reply to any specific questions. I would appreciate if a moderator could tag our profile as a vendor with Screener.co as our website. There was no way I saw to do that myself in the profile editor.
I don't know what percentage of Big Mike forum users take into account fundamentals when screening for stocks in Real Time. There is definitely a lot of screeners out there including yours that are very effective at incorporating a large set of fundamental indicators as well as technicals. They key thing I want to know is, are there any screeners out there that are quick and responsive and able to allow the user to custom design indicators, technical or otherwise, incorporating multiple time frames. In other words can a user apply a complex, custom designed, set of of technical and/or fundamental indicators to a real time screener? Does Screener.co do this?
Also thanks for identifying yourself as a Vendor. Here's a thumbs up to your integrity.

My response to this post was deleted as self-promotional and I was instructed to respond to specific inquiries about Screener.co only via PM. If you have any questions about the product, please PM me rather than posting to this thread. I would not want to anger the moderators...
