ok so the 'anaLineAlertsOnPrice' and 'anaLineAlertsOnIndicator' are the only two we need now? cuz i went into the indicators to see that everything went fine and i see those two, but i also see that 'anaUserDefinedLines' is still there.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
In the Download section, if you download the indicator file User Definined Line Alerts, it contains the two indicators anaLineAlertsOnPrice and anaLineAlertOnIndicator.
i have the newest version and im trying to plot it on my pace of tape indicator but im not getting the line?
i have it set to a value of 300 which is where the green on this chart starts. i dont know that this makes a diff, but i have set the indicator to max value so there is no price on the chart as you can see in the picture.
I do not know what you are doing. There are two versions of the indicator, one is to be applied to price, it is called anaLineAlertOnPrice. Then there is another one that can be applied to indicators, which is called anaLineAlertOnIndicator.
From your indicator settings I can seet
-> that you have used anaLineAlertOnIndicator and applied it to price (it is designed to be applied to the indicator, not price)
-> that there is no price panel
-> that you show the indicator in panel 3, although I can only see on panel on the screenshot
Somehow it is not a normal chart, but everything is twisted. You can try to apply the indicator to the indicator you want to show it, maybe that helps. At least select the indicator as the input series. But I cannot answer, because I do not know where are panels 1 and 2.
all the chart is is an indicator(panel 2?) thats been maximized since i dont want to see price.. i just want to see the indicator.. so should i point the alertonindicator to panel 2?
If you use that indicator on an indicator panel, you also need to select that indicator as an input series.
The alerts fire off, if the indicator value approaches the alert line. So it needs to compare the alert line to the indicator value. It can only do this, if the indicator is chosen as the input value.
You have selected TF as input, so the alert will fire when TF approaches the line, irrespectively on what panel you have plotted it.
ah ok thanks that worked.. how do i get it to only sound the alarm when my level is hit.. it seems to be just going off randomly after i set the 'offset for alerts = 0'
-> which of the indicators you use
-> which panel you applied it to
-> which is the input series that you have selected
-> which are your exact indicator settings
