Only when my trail stop gets hit on a retrace... and then the move continues without me. I often say, "will I survive the retrace." 50% of the time I say, "damn!" 50% of the time I say, "guess that wasn't a retrace, lucky I had the trail stop."
Then the guy in the next office asks if I'm talking to him.
I don't yell at the chart, but I do talk to myself out loud all day long as to what is happening on the charts, helps me focus, example, if we break this level, then we should test this level etc
Sometimes I like to imagine that I'm a crazy contestant on one of those old game shows, like Wheel of Fortune or The Price is Right. I shout "big money! big money!"
I don't necessarily yell at the chart but I do voice out loud my reactions to price movements while I have open positions. I say things like "yesss", "sweett" if it's going my way and "oh crap", or colorful expletives when things go against me.
examples:
"C'mon , You know the day trend is DOWN, you know you should only take the short side why are you BUYING?"
or
"It was exactly in your sell zone, you've been waiting three days for this why didn't you sell?"
or
"Have confidence in yourself !"
I also write these in my notebook (journal) - in caps with a red circle around it and highlighted.
Now I have 3 signs that go in front of my PC
--------------
If the price action isn't going my way - I'm wondering what I have overlooked.
If it is, I telling myself not to get too confident and let a profit erode to a loss.
