I just got Al's new book about a week ago and agree with what others have said, it's a HUGE improvement. I'm only about 1/3 of the way through but it's going a lot better than when I was slogging through his original book. His info rings truer than any other info I've ever read about trading and this new book communicates the info so much more clearly.
Anybody here in Al's chat room? Would love to hear some reviews.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I just started reading it as well. It's not leisurely material. More like a text book and will take multiple reads. Starting by just going through the information and not hesitating too long on things I don't understand. Also not reading the deeper discussion on the charts. I'm going to get through it once and then go back for more detail the second time.
I may do it in Jan also. His recaps are incredibly thorough. Of course, as we all know, doing it after the fact doesn't mean anything so that's why I'd love to see what his room is like live.
I'm really excited about this book, I had previously purchased the first book mentioned published in 2009 but not had the time to read it. Now this book is out, I had just purchased the ebook version from Amazon and got it into my iPad and iBooks! No crummy Kindle DRM here :P
I've just started reading it and I am so interested in Price Action after relying on too much indicators previously and because now I truly believe that if you just learn how to trade just the Price Action and see the story that it tells, the insight it gives you can weather any type of Market, making you a more profitable trader and leaving less on the table.
So after reading the first chapters there is a definite clear difference between this latest version and his first book (even though they have the same title).
What also caught my attention was that Al Brooks mentioned that Wiley had suggested that he spread his teachings and findings this time over 3 books instead of the original concept of his first book in just 1 volume.
So I suppose it's more reading for all of us But I am sure it's all worth it
So far, this book seems to be either written for someone who is probably already advanced in this matter, I am just dumb or like a lot of other comments I read everywhere, it's written not in English!!
I now know why trading by Al Brooks Price Action is so elusive, like the other thread's title in this forum "The Elusive Price Action: How to Trade". It's elusive because although I am sure Al Brooks is a phenomenal great trader (which is why I am trying to learn to copy him, flattery at its best!), his teachings are very difficult for a fellow trader such as myself to follow or understand.
Is there a thread on this forum where we can all discuss and decipher his teachings??? Could we do it here? Or would that no fall into the category of the subject matter of this thread?
