another way of course would be to use the "CrossAbove and CrossBelow" function. that also should only color the trigger bar as well.

This method works if you are using an oscillator (a line). For other things like for example painting the opening range bar, or a calendar event (in my case), where there will not be a cross, the Cross does not work. So, I was looking for something generic and I think with all examples you guys provided it will be easy now.
