wow! I been a member of Big Mike's awesome site since '09 and I can't tell you how much I've learned from Mike and many others generosity.... and shamefully have not been able to pay it forward for one reason or another.
37,000+ members here and going strong!
-oh and btw, if you're looking for a fight you'll get one!....I been bounced out the back door by @wldman a few times....and loved every second of it! (chicago pit reality check)
best,
JD
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I'm sure the person who wrote this has seen plenty of account statements to verify of course.
And, last time I was there, I know two of those mentioned only had a sell button, and are quite well known to only short bull markets, and make it part of strategy to add to losers already down 30-40 ES handles... If this type of trader is listed in the "good" category, well, I'm not sure what that says about the rest. Yeah, successful, profitable.... keep dreaming.
The bottom line is that ET is like the Mos Eisley Cantina (damn I hate SW references but it fits). People get killed, brawls break out, and all the insecure big boys swing their you-know-whats around. futures.io (formerly BMT) is where people actually have civil conversations, even though there are disagreements, but to disagree is often to learn from one another. But Mike keeps it civil enough to be productive and doesn't let things get too off track.
If you can ignore the trolling, insults, extreme bullying and harassment that dominates at ET, then there is some good info available ( I liken it to dumpster diving). I honestly think some people thrive on the negativity at ET. At ET, I think there are a lot of these people: "I lost money trading, so I am going to bash anyone who says they are successful, because if I could not do it, then no one can."
But if you want neighborly behavior and some good discussions, then futures.io (formerly BMT) is a great place.
I used to post a lot at Tradestation forum, which has pretty good moderation, but I got sick of the trolls there. That is why I am here.
I know of one other trading forum that is upping its moderation, and deleting "flame" posts a la Mike. Hopefully Mike started a trend that will continue everywhere.
That site is a joke and should not be called Elite in any manor or form. It should be called (Reading A Thousand threads of mostly dribble and learn to trade even worse). I personally think the Quality of futures.io (formerly BMT) site is extreemly apparent if anyone has spent some time here. I dont think Such famous Traders and writers such as Al Brooks and countless others would bother to be interviewed by by Big Mike and be associated with this forum if this wasnt one of the best quality forums for traders out there.
Exactly the same for me. I travel to no other trading forums. I think when I signed up for futures.io (formerly BMT) I also signed up for a few others but have never traveled away from futures.io (formerly BMT) - so what does that tell you!!
All the reminder emails from Traders Laboratory to make my first post etc go straight to the bin.
Sometimes when i don't find the needed information here at BM i'm going to ET. After a short time i'm completely lost, don't find anything and knowing why i don't use ET regularly. The BM forum software and style and functions are years ahead of the ET site. Thats a big advantage and for me it's important to find informations quick and reliable.
Big Thanks to @Big Mike to keep the forum state of the art and keeping in touch with your members and their needs.
Baron sacrificed quality for quantity on every turn. For years, he tolerated the sponsor Alex Wasilewski posting on ET before he finally stopped that. Michael Covel can still post, though. The moderator ElectricSavant was tolerated for years before finally banned. Nkhoi, the mod who brought back Jack Hershey, is still there. Jack Hershey, Spydertrader, Nkhoi are evidence of how much Baron cares about quality trading discussions. He rather had contributors with integrity like MarkBrown censored by the mods protecting Jack Hershey. Activity of any sort and the ad revenue generated from it are still king on ET. It's sad to see what ET has become over the years, but in my opinion, deservedly so. Now that there are alternatives, real traders seeking a serious discussion don't put up with that kind of place anymore.
Thanks Big Mike for providing the most well run trading forum I've seen.
