IMHO, $10M would be suitable, don't want to be greedy.
...But I'd miss trading, regardless...
"If you don't design your own life plan, chances are you'll fall into someone else's plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much." - Jim Rohn
Reminds me of a joke my high school English teacher told me.
"Would you sleep with me for $100?"
"Hell no! Get away from me! You're disgusting!!"
"Would you sleep with me for $1,000,000?"
S/he hesitated, then blushed a bit.
"Aha! Now that we know what you are ... let's get down to negotiating the price!"
And hell yes I'd take the money and run. Even if trading's absence leaves a hole in your life, you can buy a big can of Fix-All with nine zeros.
I would buy about $500 million worth of well built apartment buildings in decent neighborhoods and expect anywhere beween 5% - 35% yearly return on my investment, and then buy about 100 mill in gold and silver coins to be securly tucked away and use the remaining $400 mill to build orphanages all over third world countrys.
I heard a story once of a trader in the pit and he made 1 million dollars in a day.
He quit trading at the end of that day and all the other traders on the floor who also had big winnings, continued trading and lost their winnings. This seasoned trader who told this story said, that guy was smarter than the rest of us.
Personally, I like and love trading and it would be a complete head change for me.
I guess I would take the money and look to re-invent myself.
Probably, get into helping others but I would probably continue to trade in sim. LOL
Wishing you the best,
Rachel
PS Who I would help: set up college grants, help with education about GMO's, homeless, elderly, people living below poverty level, would buy property to grow organic food and provide jobs for farmers, build Green Living villages, also put some in Gold and silver. I have a cousin who is a multi millionare and he has someone who takes people's requests for help with anything. He has his guy check those in need out and if they are legit, he helps them. (My cousin does go to the Poker Tournaments. LOL) Would probalbly create jobs doing environmental clean up and if I wouldn't get myself on a hit list, look into funding alternative energy.
In the end one has to ask if this is the main goal - getting rich -, at first sight for sure. But it's also quite challenging so leaving all behind, all that was exciting, made gray hairs and lots of fun. Saying yes and taking the bucks would mean to look for a replacement of all this.
