Here we go. EMA(7) is black line, and SMA(15) the Blue line (dots). Force index EMA 13. This exactly matches the ES on 1/22/2010 which is on their site. The ForceIndex is not exactly the same but good enough.
This is how I trade, with different numbers but the same idea. I also use an DMI-ADX
The hash/dash was to try perryg's suggestion. I think that even though it looks clean the line chart may be of more value. With the line you can see when the indicator is flat and hugging the zero line. It also shows some divergences. I'm experimenting with EMA vs. HMA as well as different periods. Somewhere in the mid 20's to mid 30's is looking pretty good. Definitely not quite the same as boomerang's. The colors change above/below the zero line, but close.
Kirk, You must have posted this as I was typing my last reply. Obviously what I did re. the dash thing was incorrect. I'll set up a chart with your settings. Also, I have DMI and ADX, but not DMI-ADX. Is that an indicator or are you using the individual indies? How are you using them?
Thanks for all the info.
THis is how I trade. Have attached the chart for 6E from todays trades. I use EMA(7) = Black line, LinReg(34) = dash line, ForceIndex (EMA 13), and ADX_multicolour (5,15) with DM(5). I also read the PRICE ACTION - very important
I used Force Index v02 in the chart attached and it looks different and has 2 lines whereas yours has 1 lien and look clean. I sued same EMA6 and EMA13 for Force Index.
In panel, 1 , Blue is EMA(7) , and Blue dots are SMA(15) to match PerryG's and Boomerang specs
