Yes, I know what you mean. I love winding up my Speedie in the morning as well. For me, the day has yet to start until I give my Speedie a nice winding and have my morning coffee
Their newer Heritage line is quite sexy. Has that slightly vintage yet modern vibe to it. They also have it in a limited edition green bezel which is quite the looker in person.
BTW thats Colombian Pesos not USD x-rates.com to get an idea.
I see wooden watches and sunglasses in a lot of stores here, at least three local makers.
My GF was laughing at me for dejectedly looking at pics of my Breitling last night. I only had it for 5 weeks, it was a gift. I even had a chamois leather cover (just push to one side to see the dial) to hide it when wearing as having your arm chopped off with a machete in town (Africa) can be inconvenient. To keep the leather dry I took that off in the jungle lodge shower... amateur move.
Edit: Idea, I run a homeless charity here, we might look at making and selling smartwatch covers for the poor to sell. Though security is good now, there is a tradtion of not wearing jewlery, few married women wear their rings for example. Might be popular though minimal profit.
Someting that I think gives me an edge trading is that I can control my perception of time pretty well and I do know the approximate time in my head. Something I could not do when I wore a watch I must admit, I used to constantly look at my wrist for something my mind could do. Maybe a cover could tempt me to get a smartwatch for trading alerts.
