oops. orders were entered right but but I wrote it wrong here. Thanks for pointing it out. I'll correct the typo
This is a good example of why I said not to try and use this journal for trading advice. I read and re-read every order before I submit it. Trying to hurry here to make the post and get back to watching the mkt, it's easy to miss a typo like that. Thanks again for catching it.
2:00 all orders canceled. Market traded at 2812.25 several times but couldn't get to 12. I expect to see a significant rally before the close, but it could get wild. Yesterday's 3:15 bar had a 10 point range.
2:00 I have been patiently watching this market since 8:00 this morning like I always do. The market has kept it's distance significantly far from my buy and sell levels. My trading window is 9:00am to 2:30pm. So I think I will call it a day. No trades today.
Certainly this wasn't the best time for me to start this journal. After 7 consecutive losing trades, it would be easy to get discouraged. But I will be at my desk on Thursday morning same as usual, entering orders as indicated by the system. What is the difference between being stubborn and being a disciplined trader? I would say confidence in my years of research and experience. Since I completed work on this system three years ago, there have been losing streaks and drawdowns. Everybody has them. This is not the worst I have been through. Persistence and discipline have always paid off. So I'll be there in the morning doing what has worked for me in the past.
Respectfully, who the hell are you to tell me how to trade? None of my stops have been less than 2pts. Often they are 3pts. How much would you recommend is a good amount to lose? Maybe I'm just better at identifying when to cut losses than you are. Respectfully
I forgot your 1st post in this thread - I apologize.
If you can successfully trade this method when the $VIX is spiking (Feb '18) and continued high volatility in the ES through mid-April, then more power to you.
My opinion doesn't matter. I wish you the best in this journal. If your method is dynamic enough to tame the ES over several years intraday, then you are definitely a pro.
