His use of "!=" means "does not equal".

He's saying the interbank is not a centralized exchange, which is true. But retail forex orders do not get posted to the interbank anyway. When trading spot forex, your "exchange" is essentially your broker's dealing desk--though some brokers say they send client orders out to a third-party ECN (or liquidity provider) and do not actively trade against their clients. Whether that's true or not is a case-by-case question, and is way off topic for this thread.

Arguably, forex could still be listed as a choice even though there is no spot forex exchange. But I'm guessing that wasn't the intent with this poll..??

Sidenote: fwiw, I too would love to see a breakdown of the CME group.

Hi - OK thanks for the clarification regarding " != "

Yes, having traded Forex for decades, I am aware that this is not an Exchange and how the retail market for FX works. But it is still a way to do trading and the world largest market for trading compared to the Exchanges listed, hence I thought that it could be of interest for the forum to see.

However, there are platform where you can trade Forex the same way as on an exchange e.g. LMAX, FxALL (Reuters) FX Connect, Currenex. Etc. These platforms connect traders of FX and there is a fee for using the platform/data and a clearing fee. Many retail brokers are getting their prices and trades through these platforms, but there is nothing stopping serious traders from using these platforms for their trading.
