When launching NinjaTrader - I ensure that I have my Discipline Manager opened and enabled - DM is a risk management tool that will halt me when I hit daily profit/losses targets. I also have to open a window that displays the upcoming economic events. After all that is open and confirmed, I check the chart.

yeah... i find knowing what economic events are going to happen keeps me out of trouble.

I use it for daytrading but not for scalping. I have 40-200 tick targets.
