So that I understand, why does [0] have to be used and when do I have to change it to [1] or [2] or [3]......?

See EDGE's post 5.

[0] refers to the current bar.

So for example Close[0] refers to the close of the current bar,

[1] refers to one bar back

So Close[1] refers to the close of the previous bar.

[2] is two bars back...etc..
