My day job is as an administrator in higher education so while I could not take advantage of the text messaging, I could look in on the conversations once in awhile and record the messages - great for learning! And I usually keep Skype open at work just in case family members want to contact me.
Anyone else out there from Michigan?

Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I have a buddy who trades on and off with me ( he has a day job about 3 days a week).
We don't talk live but we do chat, share charts and observations.
Things that have helped
1. showing people your entry and exit real time - no room for bull. It is very surprising how 'exposed' you feel.
2. having someone who is maybe not trading your setup give you an assessment of YOUR assesment ( if that makes sense to people). This person has no emotional content with the trade and occasionally throws in the odd comment that can be extemely enlightening.
3.showing losers. Yes oddly they do happy with monotonous regularity and realising that we ALL do that and it's nothing to be ashamed of - just something to try and learn from.
Things that didn't help
1. live talk - you often feel the need to say stuff just to break the long silences!!
I know that goes against your view BM but it's just what I found.
Big Mike,
Thank you for doing this: already I see that it is and will be very helpful to me. It kept me from overtrading last week (and not following my trading plan), things I usually do when "no one is watching." LOL. And, it's very educational to listen (though I might not understand at this point) what others are talking about.
Also, another thank you! to Sharky for letting me know about futures.io (formerly BMT): This is just what I needed for my next step. I appreciate it very much.
I use my journal to expose myself I would recommend everybody keep a detailed journal on nexusfi.com (formerly BMT). Get " SnagIt" from TechSmith software if you want to easily annotate charts and post them on the forum like I do. Still, I'll hang out in the ES group during the opening hour.
Are there any forex traders out there? I scalp the forex market during the European session opening and when the US markets open. I live in California. I use to trade with a buddy but he basically retired, living off his forex profits. Several sets of eyes helps when it comes to trading.
I am part of a group of traders in France and we have a private forum with a private chat room on which we can write, share files and talk to each other.... This last point was the new one.
We started this experience a few months ago and I can tell you that it was for most of us very difficult to get used to this new environment. You have to keep in mind that it may (it does) change the way you trade at the beginning.
Im an assiduate reader of the forum, just opened an acount to starting go live at the ES, and would love to be part of a trader-buddies group!
Im starting out verrry slowly, since I have a small account and my plan is to grow it to allow me to do both daytrade and swing trade.
I currently only looking at the ES but I intend to try out CL (i guess i suffer from BigMike's impatience syndrome as well...), but only later on, when i'm confident enough, and my account leaves more room for error.
I have my own entry and exits discretionary strategy, would like to share it and hear some toughts, as well as try to implementate other traders ideas and advices into it.
Im not trading for a living. Im eager to learn as much as i can from other traders ( BigMike's forum is a goldmine for me) so i loved the trading buddies idea.
