Another machine / service driven day so far. Right now working to resolve why Kinetick feed not matching CME. Tech Support at Kinetick could not understand why I would not let them into my machine even though we were both showing the same "WRONG" number for volume when compared to what the CME is reporting. I have asked for a supervisor to call just wonder where I will be going from here.
Just may be enough to cancel paying for this "premium unfiltered tick feed."
You may say I am a bit ticked off over the whole situation.
Time to check with Interactive Brokers to see what their feed may cost.
There is no reason that the volume should be off as reported by Kinetick by 53,007 contracts or more as the CME is up to 10 mins delayed (as informed by TD Ameritrade support when they gave me the webpage link.)
Yes on the phone the Kinetick rep also had the same volume number.
Hard enough working to learn how to trade the market.
Well it is another day and I am above ground, so it is a good day overall.
IB does not offer a quality data feed, they focus solely on execution.
IQFeed (Kinetick) is more or less the best data feed available for retail traders. You might try @Robert Carrillo even though he works for IQFeed and not Kinetick, to help find what is going on.
Okay I think I figured out why I am not getting the same or even close to same numbers as CME for Volume using Kinetick. I don't know how this happened, but I am fairly certain that Kinetick is out of synch with CME for what they are calling "New Day." Not sure if this happened when CME changed their hours last year, but I did notice that my Market Analyzer Daily Volume was no longer resetting to ZERO for daily volume right after Pit Close at 16:15 EST. I thought nothing of it till now, obviously it is later in the day and I suspect midnight EST, but have not checked. Since this is happening regularly it is reasonable to see that the first part of Globex volume is not showing up daily in volume for ES.
I've sent my observation on into Kinetick and we will see what the answer is.
Well back to working on figuring out and learning from my many mistakes in the ES market.
Today my new programmed strategy was a perfect MARKET LOSER, many overfills, and just plain awful trading; but I am getting to see how things affect NT7.
Wow totally wrong what I thought about the VOLume and time to start new day.
Could have sworn that it used to start at the end of the trading day fresh but noticing even my CME website is continuing past Pit Close for today's volume. OOPS
As I say "It isn't the first time I'm wrong, nor will it be the last." Oh well back to the drawing board.
Definitely a learning day.
Getting closer. Still losing money hand over fist programmed trading. Thank goodness I have the good sense now to do this losing of money in SIM. Today would have been a profitable day had there not been coding errors on my part. I felt good being able to find the error and fix it. Getting the programming bug I guess. Have a long way to go though.
Finally a winning day
Need to string a lot more of these together and then get back into trading my cash account.
OOPS just realized on my trade I accidentally hid the fact that I traded SIM today. That was not intentional.
Sorry.... Another SIM trade day here, but a winner, and need more before turning the cash button on again.
