Congrats to you...I got my email today also. I have been a NT7 user for a quite a while and also switched to NinjaTrader Brokerage Services a couple of months ago. Nice to see they give you a few perks for the family.
I sent an email request at the end of December and they said they would add me to the beta tester list. I think it came up when I was trying to solve an issue with Custom Bar Types or sub-second tick data, which was supposed to be available in NT8. I probably saw a post in their forum directing people to send the email request for beta testing.
Apparently I didn't turn in my beta testing agreement form on time. Their email didn't say there was a deadline for doing so and I was waiting for information about the exact day the 2nd beta would open. Never got another email and I happened to find a post on their forum that the 2nd beta started on Thursday. Now they tell me I have to wait for wave 3. That's so bogus!
Sorry to hear that you missed out on it. I did get the email with download link yesterday and have to say I was ecstatic about it. I'm sure that they had a lengthy list or wanna be testers.
I was ecstatic too. Maybe too ecstatic since I didn't even realize there was a form to sign and return. I did scan the email and I didn't see any hard dates, just something about starting mid week, and "You will receive further instructions as they become available". So I didn't think I had to do anything. It's just a major let down. I don't understand why they have such a difficult time communicating. At least they should let me in because they already told me I was in! It's unbelievable!
Congrats...It's the old "the squeaky wheel always get the grease." And you probably made them realize that you want it bad enough and will make a fabulous tester.
Well, I am a software developer with 15 years experience, mostly with C#, and I do plan to test some of the trickier things like sub-second ticks, custom bar types, indicators, and strategies. I'm pretty sure I will be fabulous!
Thanks for the friendly banter. Maybe we'll run into each other on the NT beta forum. My handle there is also ganamide.
