Guess I liked my one tick loss so much I had to put it in my journal twice.
Didn't remember doing it twice.
Realizing programmed trading is where I need to be spending my time learning as it will help me both in understanding the dynamics of the market but with trading discipline as well. Computers will do just what you tell them. The trick is telling them what to do. I still have LOADS TO LEARN.
Thanks again to Big Mike... This is the greatest site I have ever found for a collection of information and helpful people.
Today uneventful go nowhere day. Was tired from the day before driving back and forth to LA.
Also attending and swearing in my youngest daughter into the US Navy as an Ensign yesterday.
Decided to try just leaving my computer on automatic, brave as I am SIM trading, but would do the same thing when I get to the point of being confident with my computer and taking on the risk of my computer burping or finding a spot where I have again messed up the code.
Like I said go nowhere day, and that is exactly what my strategy did. Because there was no true breakout up or down I ended up SOH for the entire day courtesy of my computer strategy, and that was the right thing to do.
Didn't post end of week results from last week. Well here they are. Gotta love NT7 it keeps track of all this stuff.
Last week was very lucky for programmed trading. Still need filters and better entries though. Already proved that from today's results Monday 23 Jun 2016, but that said the loss was not that bad compared to what I have done without programmed trading before.
Totally not trading related, but did take up my day as you have to fix the big things fast.
Why I like YouTube so much. Spring to my garage door broke this morning. After watching a few videos, and two trips to Home Depot I now have four new springs on my garage door. It's the little things in life.
Trading a few small losses. Still need to catch the minute moves faster in this chop trade environment.
Done for the day. Happy with my results. Still not knocking it all the way out of the park but after all I have a lot to learn and a whole lifetime to get there.
Feel good about morning trade. Still need chop or filter for my trades. Basing entry off just Keltner Channel is not going to cut it. Well not totally just off Keltner Channel I also have time filter on my strategy.
Did an indicator quick for a member that wanted to color bars based on time. I have not tried a 30 second time based chart with NT7, but I know my code will run on it for him. Gave me all sorts of ideas for future coding.
Still loving FastStoneCapture for my image manipulations.
Will also add on templates for what I am using to piece together my journal and keep track of my trading day. Still loads to do there as well too.
Forgot a picture for indicator... Not much of one, but I am still learning.
Still getting loads of practice in. Great stuff.
Slaughtered today, but better slaughtered in SIM than in real cash account.
When I get it to the point where consistently gaining will then switch back to cash.
OOPS almost forgot to show todays bloodbath. Yes I forgot to switch from points to currency. Oh well.
Just parking my strategy here for a bit. It both draws Keltner channel and trades in the morning hours. Still loads of work to be done on it, but I am switching machines; plus this is a great forum to park my work at. So all that said if you download my strategy, beware it is not consistently making money by any stretch of the imagination.
Trading on my main trading machine today.
Computer and trading program issues are getting solved faster and with less hassle.
Finally starting to calm down.
Only took over a year in SIM to do it for me. Well mostly in SIM.
Still have yet to hit my stride, but I can feel coming it right around the corner,
Well that or a big train.
Also no end of the week analysis as I have not learned how to merge my NT7 data between two platforms yet for my SIM account. Yes with live account I could just log in and get it from my broker. Plus I like the way that NT7 handles analysis.
On working vacation in CT. When GF is at work so am I either at her place on my laptop and portable USB powered second display or reading up on NT7 on my Toshiba Tablet.
Did not stay to record EOD chart, also Shut down strategy which lost my actual trade plots, so when I put the strategy back on NT7 puts the trades in different locations than real prices were.
Red Eye from San Diego to Detroit Sunday, and then Detroit to CT on Monday.
