Finally saw Gravity and it was indeed freakin awesome. If you haven't seen it, you must go while it's still in the theater. It was ride from start to finish and as close as you are going to get to feeling like you are out in space.
I hate to interject but I hated this film. I got bored and kept looking at my phone. People made it out to be the movie of the century, but it's hard to say such imo bc the whole movie took place in literally one setting, a space station. 2001 space odyssey was better, or better yet Prometheus! Now that was a great work of cinematography! If I'm watching a movie set in space it better have aliens or I'm outtie!

The thing that gets me is why I keep ruining movies with my mind. The more I think about this movie the more I realize how incredibly stupid it is. Don't get me wrong, if I was a kid I'd love this type of movie because I wouldn't see things that I do today. In this futuristic type of world why doesn't he control the robotic suit remotely? Doesn't this make more sense with where the military is going with the drones and unmanned vehicles? Also, Why isn't he wearing a helmet in most of these scenes? From a safety perspective I doubt this type of combat would even be advisable even with the technology. Oh well, im actually very interested in this film. i know the japanese book this is based on, and it's a pretty gruesome/nasty story. but it's tom cruise so some things are to be expected. also he's in sci fi movies lately (maybe because his religion is sci fi? ). Eyes wide shut, minority report, vanilla sky...it kind of makes me wonder how sane a person can be after acting out all these crazy movies. Shit, I'm already crazy and I've only been in home movies.
