Just rolled back in from watching it floating in a lake in southern IL... stunning. Surreal. I'm still wrapping my brain around it LOL. We're also going to get the 2024 one right here at home, really looking forward to doing it again.
Another thing that was surreal was the traffic leaving 'The Path'. My wife was down in Dixon Springs State Park with some of her family for the weekend (I had to work and take care of our anti-social furbaby). The 5 hour drive home took her 12 hours (the Western KY Parkway was just about a parking lot).
I was happy to see the 95% we had here in Lexington
Aah sorry to hear that but I'm sure she had a lot of enthusiasm for what she saw. "Totality" ceases to be a term, replaced by a much deeper experience. But any eclipse action is damn cool!
There were definitely traffic snafus all over but we managed to avoid them; stayed and hung out at the lake while everyone cleared out, as is our protocol after years of attending big races, concerts, etc. In 2024 we won't have to go anywhere, just crash out here in the woods and wait for it to come to us
Wow that's awesome. On another note, the ISS flew over our place Friday night, got to watch it hustle across the starry night sky for about three minutes. "There's people up there!" LOL
