I am look for an ATR (Average True Range) indicator for RANGE BARS. The normal ATR indicator does not show up correctly. If you use a 6 range chart you will always get 6 as a number, and if your use an 8 range you get 8. Does anybody know if one that works properly ofr Range bars.
hey jeff,
here my ADX rising / falling BarColor-study.
ADX BarColor
as said :
- it says nothing about price up or down-trending
- it colors the bars ONLY
- it does not plot an ADX
- it does NOT repaint anything
- i am 99% shure that it is also OK in realtime
you see in the picture together with your JeffADX where your ADX-histogramm differs from my BarColor-study (magenta arrows) - thats JeffsADX - repaintings.
i dont know why such things are made - maybee there is a deeper sense - too deep for me
i only know that i make it always very simple and dont need or get no repaint-problems.
look in the code - its nealry nothing in there.
this way i also would do a histogramm without repaintings.
oh - and forget those 80 + 20 parameters - its a leftover from the indicator-shell.
so far for today ... hope it helps someone
have a nice weekend all !
bye
