Just a suggestion; I have been reading the metrics journal and find Big Mikes metric journal the most to my liking.
I posted a Sierra Chart 'spreadsheet for auto trading' in the Downloads section and then realized that not everyone is familiar with the technical details of Sierra Chart, so I included a 'how to' for updating your Sierra Chart folder, how to modify what I had submitted and dangerous things you should not do because of how Sierra Chart works.
Would you spend some time to put together a 'how to use' list for this spreadsheet. Something that would include Post #13, #88, #119. A brief overview of what each tab is for, which data to enter (is date yy/mm/dd or American mm/dd/yy) and maybe some reference links to Expectancy, MAE, MFE. Maybe some limitations, for example: is Instrument List restricted to 8 entries? Since you are posting using RAR, this could be easily included once it is done. B.T.W - I do not mean a tutorial on Excel, as this can be found with Google, just some guidance on using this wonderful tool. I know MAE and MFE are well documented in futures.io (formerly BMT) and in Investopedia - just a suggestion. If not, I am sure there is enough in this thread to figure it out.
Opps - I see that I should have read to post #122 - perhaps a Word document in the RAR file with a summary of the 'read me' would be useful
I have just looked at your contribution in the SierraChart Download section and it looks like the spreadsheet file (scwbf) is missing from the zip file. Maybe you can check it?
thank you VVHG
with the great exchange between you and Madlyfe, I was able to comb some tips from this thread and put into my own readme. I include it as a word file. I look forward to using Journal 2, thank you for all of your developments in this project.
so from 2.0.7 -> 2.0.8 i cant just copy the journal over because you made changes to the journal coding. so i should copy each green column individually?
also i dont think the issue with the rounding in the journal tab is fixed.
dont believe anything you hear and only half of what you see
Sure - go ahead
I had experience with Excel 2002, so was unfamiliar with many of the features you discuss. I viewed the tutorial video and found out Excel 2010 is so much better.
I include an updated version - just a few tips on how to use Excel 2010.
