For the far
OTM options we are selling it is best to leg into them. The chances of getting good fills on spreads is very small.
Thanks ron99,
that is good to know!!!
With options on equities or equity indices it is the other way round, so I learned something new today
best and probably more questions to come, Richard

Several platforms have different variables that you can change that affect the
delta calculation. For example the QST platform 5 different models you can use.
Check the settings in ESignal to see if you can change how deltas are calculated.
I use the one that closely models what is on the Daily Bulletins from
CME .
I used to have ESignal. It was pretty good. But I like QST better.
QST works well for linking to excel and for having correct deltas. Problem for most is that it is expensive.
I don't think CTS or OEC/Zaner has deltas. I haven't found them.
Thanks Ron. There are some settings in eSignal, but they don't make a substantial difference in the resulting value. There is no choice of different valuation models like TOS has.
Since I posted original message, I've gone whole hog and am in the process of (in addition to the platforms mentioned earlier) evaluating TOS, TradeStation, OptionVue and LiveVolX. Once I'm done with all this, I'll start a thread.
As to delta values, eSignal's deltas are 3-6 percentage different than all the other platforms. TOS, IB/TWS and OX all have very similar deltas.

Looking forward to that thread.

Looking forward to that tread as well. I am currently with eSignal 11, BTW.

That looks like all of them. Does anyone know if they offer SPAN margin on commodities?

TOS is missing several options. You can't do all of the ICE Softs, SI, LH, LC, HO, RB. Missing the Softs is a big one.

I see all of these listed under the various sections in the link given, but I assume they aren't coming from the ICE? If not, why do you prefer ICE?

Click on the link. Click on Futures. Click on the Futures Product and look in the Tradable Options column to see which ones are not available.
CME Hog options are not available to trade. COMEX Silver options are not available to trade. ICE Coffee options are not available to trade. NYMEX RB options are not available to trade. Plus others.
