we are traders and NZ dollars are different than US dollars, in terms of pricing and such.
either way to sunday, really sorry you don't have discounters down there. I kept running across a computer tech firm in AU/NZ that had prices that would make a Yank blush. Either way to sunday, we have to help @GaryD because he is reaping the world wind on this fiasco

I have had no problem, you might want to look into returning what you got and just build it
using the above, it came to $1,600 with shipping.
Good luck,
Rachel
PS The case is Fractal Design, Arc Midi R2 computer case, it is big with 3 fans and has 2 screens (one in front and below in back, so you can remove and
clean the dusk without having to open the case. I use 3 screens.
I could be wrong Rachel but i think Gary's Xeon is faster than that i5....
My goal when i had one built for me was to build it as up to date (with proven components) as possible to delay the inevitable obsolescence. My i5 that i'm typing this response on is already too slow as i've loaded it up with everything to keep my i7 clean...
I thought that's what Gary was trying to do as well, get a machine as up to date as possible...as cheaply as possible...with an SSD and some decent RAM.
I had my computer built in July, so it might be out dated by now?
Yes, building it himself, would be less expensive.
The company that built my computer, knew I used it for day trading and I needed it to work fast and handle a lot of data etc.
What they built for me, has been great, no problems but I only use it for day trading.
