Trading is difficult as is and nobody has to put up with abuse while providing a service to the community. I have not been a great contributor since I am still learning and I use several sources in this process.
Postings is a personal prefference, however downloading should only be reserved for Elite members.

Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Hey BigMike, I all in for making downloads accessible for Elites only. As a large body of users is in the trading-learning phase, they don't contribute much since a vast majority of newbie questions is already answered and asking them is useless. Asking stupid questions (what is a stoploss?...) is rude hence a newbie has nothing to post. Thus, the post-count rules would IMHO serve against the purpose of the forum (learning) as possible newcomers would be discouraged or would post crap.
first of all thank you and your team for wonderful learning resource.
Second - you will not solve any of "problems" you mention by locking up forum/downloads to Elite, whatever. Too late. Everyone knows about creative, active community on futures.io (formerly BMT). So code thieves already have your Elite membership. For some new scamer searching what to sell $50 or $200 for membership is not a money, if that looks promising. Also you cannot rely on everyone who already have your Elite membership, as people/friends share "goodies" and someone who is interested will find "proxy" one way or another. If you lock everything up that will immediately start to look enterprise'ish i.e. "you pay and play by someone's else rules and don't know what you will get". I spent and lost too much money and time on proprietary solutions and this model for me would be immediately NO GO if I were newcomer considering membership.
What means you can potentially rob your forum of really creative, experienced wise people who could otherwise make great contributions over time. I also think that all "futures.io (formerly BMT) Elite only" would actually be worse case - it would attract any kind of people like magnet who will look at futures.io (formerly BMT) like a "legalized store" with "I paid for membership so I will take everything and do whatever I want with it" mentality.
Third, is this really the problem you are talking about? Looks like you are worried more than coders who contributed to this site and put code freely here themselves. Those who didn't want their code to be freely accessible clearly stated that "this indicator is for Elite members only". Others just withdrawed code and are selling it on their own websites. So where is the problem then? It's a beauty of opensource to share, re|use and contribute for everyones good. Thieves business is not your business, forget them, I think.
I find it amazing that people who actually are great coders and invested a lot of time to produce miracles like gom framework, d9particle/wavelets, and others are also most generous contributors working in true opensource spirit. I greatly respect them and appreciate their work and sharing with gratitude.
And finally we all know that there is no indicator that can make you rich Final product is irrelevant, application and proper use of knowledge is. I think things like new algorithm research, new trading system research, perry's, 6E trading systems, working strategies, backtesting analysis, market data files and so on - that's the value. Lock these to Elite section if you want, and other free indicators - if kid is happy with candy, leave it available.
I am all for elite downloads but unfortunately, it still would not keep vendors from registering, downloading the indicators and selling them on their websites. Perhaps there could be a "vendor evaluation" section where members could post/expose when they find a vendor who has "stolen" indicators that were posted here for free to elite members?
Then if the originator of that indicator chooses to take action against that vendor, it would be their option/choice to do so. At the very least, it would expose the vendor's inappropriate action to the trading community and quite possibly put their integrity at risk.
It would be different if a vendor charges for their time to teach a "trading system" using free or standard indicators that are readily available on most trading platforms, but to charge for indicators when they did not develop them is just plain wrong.
My thoughts on some of what has been talked about here
1. Downloads for elite only - absolutely
2 Current Elite areas ie journals, certain threads- (please keep them as is)
3. Min Post - not a fan of this as it forces people to post when they may not have anything relevant to post
4. Whole site being elite - sure give them a couple weeks access to the articles (no downloads) then either pay or no access.
I am fine with what ever you decide Mike, even an ongoing charge.
I believe futures.io (formerly BMT) is unique because of 1) Quality 2) Sharing spirit.
I found the biggest value was in the knowledge, especially through webinars/forums, not in the indicators.
My suggestions:
• Download AND Upload restriction to elite members only (a fee, even of 1$ is yet the best filter in the Internet industry).
• Allow only free indicators, but with no obligation as to giving the source code (protect those that want to share, and let them choose the level of sharing).
• Change the 50$ elite lifetime fee to an annual fee of 50$ (futures.io (formerly BMT) is now mature; this fee will make it possible to continue the sharing spirit without having to run after new users).
Gratitude and Appreciation is part of our daily way to relate to others and to the world.
In my personal experience I had to wait a few weeks before subscribing due to the fact that got laid off from the construction industry last year and was not able to get a job...no where. Had already sterted to get inetersted in futures and I am trading sim with the hopes of hone my skills to the level that I can make it to the other side.
You can not imagine th joy I had experienced when I was able to subscribe as an elite member and start discovering the wealth of information and experience made available thanks to you and your members.
I appreciate my membership everytime I log on.
I am enjoying these place everytime I open a chart and do not have a clue of what it is saying...and I have to study to open my eyes and take my brain to a new level.
Paying for the elite membership is something that should be implemented for downloading stuff and to access those special threads. I wouldnt have any remorse or feelings about it. Showing your appreciation for your initial contribution to this wonderful site is out of question.
regards and thx to you and your members. Christian. FL.
