The real story... After I ran that memtest86 for 6.5 hours, had discovered the bios needed updating, which had a prerequisite of updating the Intel management Engine, I thought, "this could be it". And got excited.
But, like a big swing trade, the odds were against it. And a few minutes into moving a few charts around it browned out. I set up a return of CPU, mobo, PSU. (exchange of the processor). Then started to take it all apart for shipping Screw it, not worth it. (Called "revenge trading")
But, the move away from my custom built is not real. It is fully diverged. And it will happen. LOLOL!!!
I then jumped online, bought a new mobo, paid for next day shipping (plus bought the same CD drive but $10 less which paid for half my shipping, aka scalping...) , the exact same model to not have to reload everything. I also have another brand's PSU and mobo here in a bag, just waiting.
It will work, and I have working hardware now, so how long I have to wait out a trade it what is never known.......
