Gary, I have seen people get burned on crappy power supplies hence why I stick to seasonic (as you have done). However you do have a combination of components which are unknown as far as how they interact with each other to produce an outcome which meets you needs, hence the comment "uncharted" territory.
Form my experience, with electronics (pro AV, home automation and computers) nothing is ever a certainty until proven. .. unfortunately!
Did you try the system just with one monitor, on each output - and then try the same sequence using your other monitors?
I have no experience with patriot so cant comment.
I agree with your last comment. I also feel strongly about how straight forward it is to assemble a PC - its like lego. You follow a simple video guide as posted earlier.
Component choice doesn't get any easier than duplicating those items that are known to be working together to produce the outcome you are after. I don't care about how good all the other components are in a PC, if you choose to use a OCZ SSD, then your system will suffer problems, and there are plenty of other examples.
You have Windows 7 bluescreens? I have never had a BSOD with Windows 7, and that's with both AMD and Intel, across a number of different machines (I'm a compulsive upgrader). Of course I have had parts fail - -hard drives, memory and one graphics card. But these type of failures are sorted in the time it takes to buy a new part, pull out the old, and chuck in the new. And everytime you overcome a failure, you problem solving skills improve. I have never been without an operational trading PC for more than several hours.
I've read many similar experiences as Gary's in the reviews on the Asus mobo's...
Gary, what type of connectors are you using to the screens? Do these newer chipsets/mobos with 3 screen multi monitor support through IGP actually work well in real use, without issues, flickering, lag, etc?
Did you enjoy installing the HR02?
I run two of the same model SSD
assuming you have had zero issues with your build?
could pick up a pre-loved sandybridge K series CPU if you want to do a little overclocking, given you have the cooler
