Ahh, yes, so I can relive the nightmare daily for the rest of my life!!! Indeed if I were to do it again I would definitely find a mentor. Going the self-taught route in this game is deadly to be sure, but I am proud to be a survivor!
Well I have only been here for a short time but have had a lot more time with NT, both 6.5 and 7. I have traded for couple of years now and have used Tradestation and NT. So my experience is limited to these two platforms. In a nutshell, NT 7 is far superior to its predecessor and considering it is still BETA, it so much user friendly in terms of functionality and capability. What I feel is the issue with most users, and sometimes myself too, is that we are treating the beta as a fully commissioned product. It is not and once we accept this, we direct our resources on the act of trading and getting more from the markets. I agree, NT may not be suitable for everyone, but each needs to spend the time and energy to sort the right tool. This is beneficial in the business of trading. Frustration towards NT or any other product will not aid in this purpose.
Nothing worth saying about TS. But can't help adding it is a piece of junk.
NT7Beta17 is by far the best version of NT I have ever used. It has gone from taking up to 30 seconds after hitting F5 to reload a ladder chart to 3 seconds.
Finally they have fixed what ever has slowed this thing down. Just wish they would change the import utility so it checks for conflicting versions of Custom Indicators, like it does with the built in ones (@EMA, etc.)

Make a duplicate chart with all the indicators, etc? You could just F10 (opens a new chart) then used the same template as the chart you want to duplicate. Drawing Images will not be maintained in this manner.
Or an image? Which is right click on a chart and Image > Save As

EOD (end-of-day) and range data are two different ways of condensing tick data. In the first case a bar is cut off after the end of the day, in the second case the bar is cut off when the specified range is exceeded. In both cases a set of four numbers is retained to represent the elapsed period: the open, the high, the low and the close.
When this has been done, most of the information is lost. It is impossible to build a range bar from EOD bars, as it is impossible to build EOD bars from range bars.
Tried to update my charts today. Had holes for all futures contracts, 6 hours (the interval between 0:00 CET and 0:00 Eastern Time) missing after update.
I am now a bit disappointed with NT 7, as after months and months of discussions around session manager, timezones and mergebackadjusted, NT7 is not capable of performing the simple task to correctly load data into the data base.
I think the whole concept must be flawed, if it can't cope with timezones, sessions and datafeeds. Conceptually this is very easy to design, but somehow they must have chosen a wrong path.
So, my charts have holes again. I can't stand it anymore...
