That's part of the beauty of a journal. At the end of every week, go back and read the last two weeks of journal entries and make observations about your strengths and weaknesses so you can work on them in the coming week.
I haven't been posting....I'm a little superstitious and have been doing good lets hope this post wont change that.
I have scaled back to only attempting to day trade the dow and have had some great swing trades on the BP, EU and AD. IMO day trading is very difficult! (I'm 40/60 on my win/loss) Swing trading with a little fundamentals and some technical has been the key for myself and my account might just end-up in the positive for the year
I have started to use HVN's and LVN's for targets and have basically became better at using market profile in a way that makes sense to me.
Here is some charts of the euro trade, Im still short 3 and long 200,000 in the spot and will increase my long inventory as price increases (I'm attempting to hedge my futures position) My 1st stop is @ 1.3850 2nd @ 1.3900 and 3rd @ 1.3950.
I am one contract short now and am watching CD. Looks like there is a possibility of breaking the 1.3925 and the .3950 hitting my stop. The VWAP for this move(starts on the 29th) is just under 1.4...Should be an interesting area.
My long position in the spot didn't quite make up for the 2 contracts, but I am cautious You never know what the news may bring.
I have been looking to get short on gold. I missed the the getting in at the double top on the 5th. But I was filled last night. The 60m trend line converged with the daily pivot, IBH, and a high volume node/long term POC. Delta has been building to the short side. And I think Sprott said to get into gold mining stocks yesterday.
Stop was hit. Gave back a bunch. I happy with the trade anyway. It looks like the trend line will be broke...if not maybe that is where I should have put my stop. I will update Monday.
Went into today short 3 contracts, Anticipated a run to fill the gap...pretty much went to sleep thinking about it filling the gap. A meeting that took me away from the screen... so missed out on a little action, glad to be flat. I'm sold on the pitchfork now, take a look at the chart Awesome day to trade the Euro!! Position finally closed.
So, looks like I was a little to greedy taking profits. Next time when I feel so strongly about a trade I am going to let half ride, not worry about losing on it (quit watching the PnL!) It was a great entry, the markets had me a bit spooked so I'll chalk it up as a lesson learned.
Shorted the YM, I'm 1 contract short for the nite. Note on the YM, delta divergence was building for a while before it broke......will this move have any follow threw?
Shorted the BP on the 3rd standard Cumulative VWAP (from the start of the rally) Probably should of held in but who knows, profitable day anyway.
