I'm currently using Rithmic and do experience periodic slippage.. My most recent experience is confirmed with IQ Feed that the execution/slippage was not possible with the time reported. I'm seriously considering a switch to CQG due to this but I have heard Rithmic is likely faster than CQG.. The slippages typically occur on CL and not ES being a faster market.. My Rithmic is not with AMP though not sure if that will matter with the types of executions you get from Rithmic..
My question is has anyone experienced slippage problems with CQG? It seems like nobody is having slippage issues with CQG..
Jedi, did the slippage occur on Stop Order, Market orders and how much was the slippage on the instruments described? What you describe could also be a latency issue as well.
Matt

It was limit orders on my entries.. I experience this from time to time but its usually small.. This time it appears to be way off from IQ Feed.. I can easily switch to CQG which my broker provides but I hear Rithmic might be faster.. I looked around BM and didn't find any complaints about CQG with anything, but some mixed reviews with Rithmic so I'm thinking of trying it out..
About 4 ticks this time, but I occasionally experience 2 tick slippages from what I see on the DOM though that can play tricks on your eyes..
You experienced 4 ticks of slippage on a limit order? If you were trading some size and had 4 ticks slippage on a market exit, I'd understand. But if you experienced 4 ticks of slippage on a limit entry that's a serious issue - regardless of your data feed.
Its possible.. but according to IQ Feed, the execution price was not possible unless it was 4 minutes prior or about 15 minutes after so that's a bit much.. I don't know all the technicals that goes behind this but it does make me wonder if a switch to CQG might change what I might experience with my perceptions of this..
Anyone have a preference between Rithmic and CQG order execution platform?
The cost is about the same which is nominal unless you use CQG charting which gets very expensive.. Currently I use IQ Feed which is much more cost effective..
It was an order for 3 contracts on CL.. I thought that was serious slippage but I heard Rithmic is one of the fastest execution platforms available and might even be faster than CQG. But I have also heard other traders say CQG is likely the better OE platform.. I'd like to hear some input from users.. It seems like nobody has any issues at all with CQG..
If you are "eye balling" IQFeed to determine what you are calling "slippage", that will not work. IQFeed will always be slower than Rithmic or CQG because of the nature of the service and what information they deliver. You cannot use it to determine slippage.
You need to list some specifics. Exactly what instrument, exactly what time was the execution hh:mm:ss (and time zone), what was your limit price, and what was your fill price?
If there are no prints for your fill price near your entry, then your broker should be able to very clearly identify what happened and offer corrective action.
