I have owned ipads and android tablets of varying sizes. My goto is a galaxy tab which is 7 inch like the Fire. 7 inch perfect for entertainment and reading which is what the kindle fire is designed to do. One thing you will find after having a tablet is all the things you thought you would do you won't. Primarily you will find yourself reading and watching movies maybe playing a few games. The fire is perfect for those activities.
If you use a lot of Amazon services the Fire is a no brainer. I find 7 inch form factor much better than larger. The price at $199 is fantastic. Can't go wrong.
"The day I became a winning trader was the day it became boring. Daily losses no longer bother me and daily wins no longer excited me. Took years of pain and busting a few accounts before finally got my mind right. I survived the darkness within and now just chillax and let my black box do the work."
I'm a Prime customer for a long time, and have been a member since 2001. When you go through the refund process, if you select "I don't want it", they charge shipping and say "since this isn't our fault...." If you select anything like "Doesn't work, defective" type of answer, then they will pay shipping.
If you have different experience let me know
BTW, Amazon support has always been stellar. Over the 10 years I've ordered a ton of stuff (just looked recently, 35k spent according to their tool), and some shipments have been lost or damaged, or wrong, etc etc. They've always gone above and beyond, overnighted replacement stuff, never given me any kind of hard time with anything.
