Howard just told me that their European server solution would be with CQG. They are seeing if co-location at Eurex is possible. It seems that CQG could offer co-location where they have servers (many places in the world).
Actually, no matter the way you connect through CQG (API,FIX,CQGTrader,CQGIC), they can always set you to connect to the region (Europe,Asia,USA...) you want. Co-locating would add a very interesting option.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
This sounds really nice. Howard should do his best! There should be a much lower latency from london based servers then from chicago. But still curious wy nobody have a trading environment directly at the eurex.
Crossland decided not to offer co-location at Eurex with CQG because they still would need to have their servers at the Eurex.
Though I'm not interested in co-locating,I wonder as well why noone cares for Eurex co-location
@Calypso: i've done that and it seems that they offer all kinds of services i would need. I have to further investigate into that vendor.
CQG has won
Today i've talked with the CGQ guys and they told me that the risk management is also related to THEIR servers. There's NO roundtripping to the (us) broker server. So as european customers we can get quite close to the eurex. They have no entry point in frankfurt, but the london location is not so far away and it is fully developed connection. Colocation seems to be targeting the big swinging dicks only. But thats no point to worry about. Our friend @sam028 is building a nice warm and dry location for our VMs in Paris and we can fire off our trades to london in a few ms.
