I just had to update this thread. It has been a lot of very hard work, dedication, and self discovery. After 6 months, I have passed a combine at TsT and will be going live as a funded trader in the next couple of weeks. Never give up. If you have the ability, passion and dedication, you will make it!!!!

Hi @Chrismind,

Congrats on your accomplishment!

great job chris, I am a newbie. still trading sim. Plan to go live in 3 months. I got a full time job that pays pretty good and I can get about 14 trading days in every 5 weeks. Do you think it is possible to be successful trading part-time? also can you give a brief update on your road to being funded? thanks,dd

Anything is possible. I'm a firm believer that if you really want it, you can do it. You must have a true passion and drive. It may take you longer, working a full time job, but it is certainly possible. Your determination and perseverance is what will get you there. I am so blessed to have an amazing wife that let me take a sabbatical and throw myself at this, full time.

An update to being funded? Nothing new, I'm still going through the administrative stuff and will be trading live in the next couple of weeks. If there is anything specific you would like to know, I am happy to share. Just ask!

My first "mistake" after SIM trading was to assume my orders are filled as quickly as in SIM... which wasn't the case... which cost me my first 200 bucks :-)

What platform are you using for SIM. Some are total crap. Some are very realistic. Either way, if you are relying on being filled to the tick for your success, then you are probably trading too short term. That was my first mistake, trying to scalp ticks. Broaden your timeframe, stops and targets, and fill time will matter much less.

I started with TradeStation SIM. And I came to the exact same conclusion you did :-)
