his family thought his stuff was of non-Christian nature to put it mildly. Now would you want to leave your fruit of labor to people who went against you when you were alive?
I think you are asking the wrong question. Start with basic and research more general question: does astrology work and what is the foundation of such believe.
There is lot of places you could search for the answer. Start with James Randi Foundation.
EDIT: There is a great video by Carl Sagan about astrology. You should be able to find it on youtube.
EDIT2: I've found it:
Kaufman's encyclopedic Trading Systems and Methods goes over the Gann square, hexagon, etc. and the edition I own (3rd) devotes 11 pages to astrological methods as well. This book is a great investment because even though you will probably give up on astrology as a price prediction tool soon, there are still 700 other pages of useful reference for you to move on to enjoy.
Thanks,Dragon.I actually find it hard to believe astro trading could work. How much effect could something as distant as Neptune have on bond prices? That is why I'd like to hear all opinions esp.from folks who have tried trading with this.Thank you for the square of nine info.I do think the moon is close enough to exert some kind of influence-it does after all, influence animals and tides, etc.,but as Richard has pointed out, there are a lot of studies refuting this.
Thanks for the info Cory. The part of his life story I find really interesting is how many years he spent at libraries and archives researching prices as far back as there were records. If his family and he had an adversarial relationship, that may explain why his papers were lost or destroyed,as well as the fact they didn't end up with his money.I wish I knew of a good thorough, fair biography of Gann. The truth seems hard to get at.
Thanks,Richard, for the book recc.I do own a small book on astro trading called "Stock Market Prediction"by Don Bradley ISBN 0-87542-046-x .It has some interesting graphs of the value of different planetary alignments, etc.Just as I'm suspicious that some of the full moon/ER studies may have set out to prove there wasn't any correlation-I suspect some of the studies in this book set out to prove there IS a correlation between planetary configurations and stock prices, and interpreted the data accordingly.I figure if the astro trading turns out to be less than desired,I can always get a set of carved whale bones that the Pacific island character in"Moby Dick" used to foretell the future! Thanks,Mark.
