My (3) Monoprice 30" LED's item# 10734 @ $686/ea shipped today and should be here for the weekend. I will try to report findings time permitting. Hopefully they are as good as reviews lead you to believe. I don't care about color accuracy, so long as I get a nice looking white and low strain on my eyes, energy efficient (heat), and no firmware bugs like power save problems that are plaguing the Dell's.

I have 2x of the Dell U3011's, 2x U3007's and a U3014 and I never had any sort of problems with any of them. I did once have a problem with an XPS desktop many years ago and Dell had a technician at my house within 24 hours. Like most Dell equipment, I would say the monitors were high quality and very reliable. Hope your Monoprice's work out as well.
Cool. I have six U2412M's that I mostly like, but if you look at the Dell forums or even other forums they are full of complaints for the U3014's that can only be solved with new firmware (new hardware revision from mfr). That was a huge turn off considering the cost of the monitor.
I've been waiting for these Monoprice cheap-o's to come back in stock for a few weeks now. I got the alert they came in stock today so hoping for the best.
@Big Mike I've read thru this thread and didn't notice what graphics card(s) you're intending to use to display 2560x1600 resolution, can you post it? Seems like an awesome setup, can't wait for further "reports."
i found this at ebay. YAMAKASI 301 SPARTA 30" S-IPS 2560x1600 DVI-D PC Computer Monitor for 389.00 (you need to pay custom fee it ship from South Korea) few friends order it from ebay they love their screen for that $$.
I haven't really put it thru it's paces much. But it's an LG panel and I would say for the price it's a good deal. The level of adjustment in the contrast/brightness area is really poor, I had to crank brightness way, way down and still if you have a mostly black background it will look gray and not black.
That said, if you put anything that isn't pure black on screen it looks great. Since most any other monitor is almost twice this price, and since I am not watching movies on this, then I think it's a no brainer buy. Even running black background charts I have no problems. The issue with the black is mainly if you are doing a movie.
