4K monitors make no sense for trading. The benefits of 4K will be lost with charts and all the DPI scaling necessary in the OS. For watching movies, fine, but otherwise I don't see it.
I have a 28" 4K monitor. I agree the resolution is to high. 40" 4K should be okay. At the moment it's difficult get one. It seems to be huge demand for this kind of monitors.
I will get one as soon as possible to get the big picture of patterns with alot of data so I can nail the targets.
At last I get my 40" 4K monitor. It's just crazy, really crazy. I really like this size.
If you want a bigger monitor, you should consider this.
And check your GraphicsCard for support 4K.
It seems to have a more pronounced curve over the Dell/LG displays as well. It's also a VA panel, not IPS, so it will have better/deeper blacks with less or no light bleed issues. However, VA also suffers from worse viewing angles than IPS as well as higher input lag. Input lag means nothing for a trader, but the viewing angles might be a concern when using multiple monitors side-by-side.
I would be concerned about the scaling. What OS are you running? Did you have to adjust the DPI scaling?
Can you post a few pictures that show the size of this monitor relative to something we can relate to, like a keyboard in front? And can you also post a closer picture that shows the font size for icons on the desktop?
