I did have VMWare Fusion running very nicely on a multi monitor hackintosh and Fusion had proper multi monitor support too. You might want to check to see if VMware (workstation I think is fusion equivalent) has multi monitor support for Ubuntu.
The ironic part is you are still using windows lol. I very much like linux in general (Ubuntu and Android are my favourites) but you just can't beat the MS market share and the compatibility and choice that goes with it. I'm a big believer of using the right tool for the job and for trading, windows is the OS to use.
I quite often fire up Ubuntu or my Hackintosh for specific purposes but I use windows the most.

I am not a computer guru by any stretch of the imagination. But I was able to get Sierra Charts to start under Ubuntu using Wine. What I could not do was get the Rithmic data feed to start. I googled Sierra Charts and Ubuntu, found a page on the Sierra Charts forum and followed the instructions. You end up using WineTricks. My installation of Wine apparently has it already, but I am not sure if I actually got it running.
Anyway, I wanted to see if anyone else has been able to get SC to run on Ubuntu and if you did, what did you do to get the data feed working?

My son came over this weekend and doubled checked my Ubuntu setup. Can't say we made any progress. I have attached a couple of screen captures to show how far I have gotten. If anyone can sort out what the error could possibly be, let me know. It appears Rithmic is looking for something (a dll or something) that Wine or WineTricks is not providing. I feel I am close but yet so far away.....

Following my post above, I posted on the Sierra Charts support forum on Sunday evening. I had a response in a few minutes. I sent that, along with the error message, to my broker, Matt at Optimus. I received a reply within minutes also. This morning Matt let me know that Sierra and Rithmic are talking to see if they can resolve the issue. Of course there are no guarantees, but the right folks are looking at the issue.

Just got SC and IQFeed successfully installed on my flavor of Linux - Foresight Linux. I've had this Linux on my Mac in a VMWareFusion VM environment for over two years now; successfully installed NT6.5 but NT would not run; after the Splash screen, it just goes off. I've had Wine installed for over two years too.
After reading your post, I just decided to re-visit my Linux, and successfully installed SC and IQFeed just now. Meanwhile, my account with SC has been deactivated 'cos I don't use SC again. However, SC/IQFeed on my Linux looks very interesting and I may explore more.
