That means, you're lucky if it doesn't crash all the time. You can't expect things to be polished, or even working yet.
Beta testing is for those who know they are getting an early look at something that is not ready, and in exchange for that look, they will report the problems so the programmers can fix them. It's essential to have beta testers, but if you use the beta, that's what you are, a tester. Your job is to help find the bugs that the developers missed.
I'm surprised that it's not really that screwed up. (And I spent a good part of the day yesterday with support trying to get connected to Rithmic, for God's sake.) It actually seems pretty decent at first look. But there are and will be problems.
It is not ready for prime time. Only the adventuresome, and the tolerant, and the brave, or those who have a stake in getting an early jump on the new version, should spend much time with it.
I didn't send live trades but mainly because I didn't have to, not because I was scared of the stability.
I've been running the different NT8 betas with two different live data feed 24/7 on two different VPS, since May, and no stability issues.
All the problems I had were because of were bugs in my own custom codes.
No you can't, and it sounds normal as if you want NT8 to import your NT7 data it's safer to have a single process accessing the files and the SQL data base.
You also won't be able to run NT7 and NT8 at the same time on the same machine, but both versions can be installed on the same PC.
There is no simple conversion process. In some cases, the changes will be fairly minor, in other cases they will be more involved. They will all require some manual programming to adapt to the new version of NT. There is no automated method.

If you are not a programmer, you will need to wait until a programmer can reprogram the indicators, unfortunately.
